Alana: A Discovery Adventure is a cozy exploration game built around photography. Help young Alana find the magical entities that vanished from her hometown and bring life back to its streets. Registered as a guide-photographer, she wanders a charming historic town, snaps the photos requested by locals and tourists, fills her album and reveals the city's hidden beauties. No puzzles, no combat, no rush, just relaxed discovery at your own pace.

History

ABOUT

Alana no longer sees the joy in the city where she lives. The streets that used to be full of tourists are now empty and lifeless. Talking to her grandmother, a shopkeeper in the historic center, Alana learns that the magical entities that once delighted visitors have disappeared, driving the tourists away and leaving the family store, which sells souvenirs, empty and her parents worried. Alana then registers as a guide and photographer at the tourism center and sets out on an adventure to find the entities and all the hidden beauties of the city.

PHOTOGRAPH THE CITY

Photography is the heart of the game. Locals and tourists ask Alana for specific shots, a blue azulejo tile, a church, the view from the top of the stairway, and she frames, zooms and captures the perfect picture with her old polaroid camera. Every photo fills her catalog album, and rare shots make the news, showing off Alana's achievements and raising her tourist-guide level.

EXPLORE AND UNLOCK NEW AREAS

As Alana's guide level rises, more tourists return and new districts of the city open up. Each of the three areas hides new magical entities to track down and photograph, along with collectible photo albums to complete, traditional outfits, local cuisine, azulejo tiles, iconic views, street art and more. Every discovery brings a little more life back to the streets.

MAGICAL ENTITIES OF FOLKLORE

Hidden across the town are magical entities drawn from Brazilian folklore, from the mischievous Cazumba to the ghostly carriage of Ana Jansen and the Manguda, all the way to the great Enchanted Serpent that closes the journey. Follow the rumors, talk to the locals to learn where each entity appears, and catch them on camera before they slip away.

A REAL PLACE, REIMAGINED

Alana is set in a cozy, low-poly reimagining of the historic center of Sao Luis do Maranhao, Brazil, inspired by a real place and its culture, architecture and legends. Warm colors, a relaxing pace and a mysterious atmosphere invite players, whether they know the city or not, to discover its beauty and fall in love with it all over again.
